Photovoltaics 2023

That is different now

The top 3 changes that make photovoltaic systems more attractive than ever!

  1. No more 19% VAT!
Since January 2023, you no longer have to pay sales tax on the components, their delivery and installation, and no longer have to pay income tax on the income.

  2. No more 70% rule!
As part of various changes, the feed-in limit of 70% was abolished for photovoltaic systems up to 25 kWp.

  3. No more surcharges:
The recently zeroed EEG surcharge for photovoltaics will officially be history in 2023. As will surcharges on self-consumption.

Funding for photovoltaic systems in Germany is diverse and includes various financial support measures. Here are some of the common funding programs:

  1. KfW funding programs: KfW Bank offers low-interest loans for investments in renewable energies, including photovoltaic systems. The "Renewable Energy Standard" program supports private individuals, companies, and municipal institutions in financing photovoltaic systems.

  2. Federal state funding: Individual federal states have their own funding programs for renewable energy, including photovoltaics. These may include grants, loans with favorable terms, or other financial incentives. The exact conditions and programs vary by state.

  3. Feed-in tariff: PV system operators are also entitled to a feed-in tariff, which provides them with a fixed payment per kilowatt-hour for the solar power fed in. The amount of the feed-in tariff depends on the time the system is commissioned and is guaranteed for a specific period.

  4. Tax advantages: Photovoltaic systems can also offer tax advantages, such as the possibility of depreciating the system over a certain period of time or exemption from sales tax on self-generated and self-consumed electricity.

  5. Storage and electromobility subsidies: As the focus of subsidy programs increasingly shifts to energy storage and electromobility, PV system owners who want to expand their self-consumption with storage or an electric vehicle charging station can benefit from additional subsidy options. These include, for example, subsidies for the purchase of storage systems or charging stations.

It is advisable to obtain information about current funding opportunities from the relevant authorities, energy agencies or technical experts, as the funding landscape can change regularly.
